Common Goldeneye x Hooded Merganser (hybrid)

Good view of female on east side of tip. I first assumed it was a female goldeneye flying along the shoreline but when it landed I scoped the bird and saw the bill was too long, thin and grayish (but chunkier than a merganser bill). The head was squarish, puffy at the back and a warm brownish gray. The back was dark and flanks were mottled, almost barred.
