First detected by distinctive call above restrooms at Bodega Head overlook. Call unlike more familiar Savannah Sparrow or Song Sparrow. Higher, thinner and not whistled as much as Savannah. Once the streaky Sparrow was located, it flushed immediately revealing very obvious white outer tail feathers. Bill too conical for any species of Pipit, overall too streaky for a Horned Lark, call unlike other nearby streaky Sparrows such as Song or Savannah.
