Comments:
w/Martha Sawyer. Fish Creek Desert is near the Toketee airstrip., a couple miles south of Toketee Reservoir. It was drier than the surrounding habitat. There was a lot of 60-ft ponderosa pine, some large (5-15 ft pacific serviceberry, and lots of 2-5 ft deerbrush. It sounds as if I wandered around the area for an hour or so, probably walked a half-mile. Grand fir and D-fir along Creek.

Red-naped/Red-breasted Sapsucker

[My original fieldnotes recorded a Red-naped Sapsucker, down in the creek area. I am changing this to RNSA/RBSA because I think it is possible that if I saw a sapsucker with a fair amount of striping on the head, such as a strong daggetti, I may have just called it a RNSA. At this point I really don't know for sure. Also leaning this way because of the June date. If it were April or May I may have left it as a migrant RNSA.]
