Forster's Tern

Sterna sp. with black patch behind eye, white nape, much white on primaries above. Two also noted near the AuGres rivermouth in Arenac County.

Kicked up from low grass/scrub patch and flew along shore for a bit. Pale belly with some streaks, darker necklace. Wings pale below with dark carpal crescent and primary tips. Bold buffy patch above bracketed by dark primary coverts and dark primary tips.

Groups of 4 to 12 moving through the point all morning. Finchiness, size, distinctive calls, general pale plumage, including white belly and underwing.

Half dozen good-sized groups moving through. Estimate probably low.

Brewer's Blackbird

One male, two females sitting out. Scope views. Same size and profile as Rusty, but male darker overall than Rusty with much less brown tones, had yellow eyes. Females were female cowbird gray/brown, no distinct plumage marks, dark eyes. Relatively short bills.
