zipping around center of lake. After several observations of these birds I'd say patience is critical. A scope is needed to tease these individuals apart from butterflies and Franklin's Gull feathers fluttering/floating around the lake.

Sabine's Gull

all juveniles; all three were seen in a single scan of the centre of the lake. A scan the center of the lake or towards the south shore will reveal these tern-like beauties.
