Comments:
Hoping to see the black-backed gull that had been observed at this location earlier in the day. No such luck. :( We birded the two swimming beaches and at the top of Area #7, looking into Area #8.

We took the trail from the northernmost parking loop in Area #7. As we neared the water, we heard a VERY loud flapping noise in the trees ahead and above. Approximately 20 turkey vultures whooshed out of the trees and flew just above us. Some of them later landed in this dead tree.
