Larger than nearby ring-billed gulls with black crested crown and red beak

Found in three different locations, checked with binoculars to make sure they were not kingbirds.

Seen in a pine/cedar windbreak with brushy understory. Seen in excellent light with yellowish underparts including throat. Complete eyering, olive colored back and short bill. Made an attempt to photograph but bird then eluded me several times.
