continuing bird; small, swimming streaked black and white on back and wings; white face, neck, and underparts, black mask through eye, thin black bill shorter than Wilson's, thinner than Red phalaropes. Quick darting, spinning and jerky jabbing behavior distinctive amongst other shorebirds. Humphrey unit

Flycatcher the size of a great crested flycatcher, colored and shaped much differently, however. Rounded pale gray head with slight dark eyeline, pale gray chest with white throat, pale yellow belly, dark wings and short black tail with very narrow white edges; thin, black bill. Sat, low in tree on west side of Roberts Rd where pavement becomes dirt. Observed for a minute or two but did not sit long enough for tripod and camera to be set up and focused.
