This is a juvenile SNEG, could be easily confused with a juvenile Little Blue Heron, except the the basal 2/3rds of the upper mandible is not pinkish, also head shape is flatter than LBHE. Also could be more easily confused with a Little Egret, but that ID should not be attempted this time of year in North America because juvenile SNEG have not obtained the typical bright yellow loral skin yet.
