This rather large area covers Ballinger Cyn from Hwy 33 E. to the end of my hike. Though I seem to have dipped into Ventura County towards the end of this hike, I only counted birds detected in Santa Barbara County only. My intent was to find the habitat that would support Gray Flycatcher in SB County.Ballinger Cyn coverage 12 July 2016

Two breeding records established and one pair in association: Pair adults tending, with one adult feeding, fledgling at 34.88325 -119.44964. Later three babies photographed and sound-recorded with stubby tails found at: 34.8780892 -119.4439848. The adults were not seen but presumed to be nearby. Another pair at W end of Songbird Ranch's huge cleared area. Another one a quarter-mile east of Highway 33. Another one 200 m east of Highway 33

One of three calling dependent fledlings in a tributary S of Ballinger Cyn. They were in different trees so they were flying to that extent.
