DATE: Sunday, 22 July 2007 (2:43p-8:45p)
LOCATION: Central Park - reservoir to the lake
REPORTED BY: Ben Cacace

After birding the reservoir I headed down to the lake for the sandpipers feeding on the mudflats north & east of Hernshead. I stayed for 3 hours from 5:15p-8:15p.

The 2 Solitary Sandpipers were seen often - mainly east of Hernshead. The 2 Spotted Sandpipers were there the whole time also.

The highest count of ''peeps'' was 21. They were mainly Least Sandpipers. One Semipalmated Sandpiper approached close enough to ID relative to the nearby Leasts.
