Flew around tip during first hour of count. Identified as a male wigeon by large white patch on upper wing coverts. Except for a paler crown, head appeared uniformly dark, contrasting with paler neck and body. Certainly the same bird that was seen the evening before at the Tahquamenon River mouth.

A large, shorebird, mostly white, but with wings and back largely black. Head and rather long neck bright pale orange. Long legs, long recurved bill. Seen in flight only as it flew over beach near tip. It appeared ready to land in pond near tip, but instead flew southwest over bay shore and out of sight.
