Continuing bird. When arrived was informed bird seen earlier, but not for several hours. After about 30 minutes vireo sang 4 or 5 times. Went silent but eventually then seen foraging in upper canopy of tree feeding on furry white caterpillars. Thick bill, two narrow pale wing bars, white crescent behind eye and pale lores. In good light eyes appeared to be a dull chestnut color, not dark, but not red. Bird sang again after several minutes with an alternate phrase than before, then switched back to first song. Would disappear in foliage then re-appear to forage on caterpillars.
