Comments:
Wednesday walk. Sunny, temperature in the 60's degrees Fahrenheit. High 11'9" Tide at 10:15am. Gray Whale observed for 1-2 hours in Shannon Slough and McAllister Creek. FOY CLIFF SWALLOW and SAVANNAH SPARROW. Mammals seen include American Beaver, Columbia Black-tailed Deer, Cotton-tailed Rabbit, Gray Whale, Harbor Seal, California Sea Lion. Garter Snake cluster observed as well.

Two occupied nests. One on the west side of the Twin Barns Loop Trail just north of the two bench observation platform just before the Twin Barns cut off, directly over the board walk. The other on the east side of the Twin Barns Loop Trail adjacent and above the Rufous Hummingbird sign.

Pair seen breeding and nest building in snag on the east side of the Old Nisqually River Dike between the Riparian Forest cut off and the Twin Barns cut off, closer to the Beaver Dam, but across the dike.
