Large shearwaters seen in Swarovski scope about 1/2 mi out from elevated position at the beach. All dark above and white below, no white rump or white on face or nape seen eliminating the other large shearwater expected (Great). Birds moved west in undulating flight from surface to about 20 - 30 ft above water, little flapping on stiff tail wind. 7 other shearwaters, 5 of which were small, moved east unidentified. Gannets hugged surface moving east against the wind..
