Continuing bird, I believe in its 3rd day. First confirmed state record for Oregon. Several people were watching Darrel Faxon's Great-crested Flycatcher at milepost 1 when I drove up. The bird was high up in deciduous trees, perching for many seconds or a few minutes at a time, looking around attentively, then flycatching and moving to another nearby perch. Over the course of many views I could see the rufous tail, bright yellow belly and lower breast, gray upper breast and throat, and crested head. Others had heard the bird call earlier that day, but it never called during the time I was there. Everything about the bird appeared completely consistent with the many many Great-cresteds I grew up with back East over the years.
