drove east on canal bank road, then clockwise around ponds to the education center. Used Steiner 10 X 50's and my Bushnell 20 X 60 Spotting scope. I phone used to document some of the birds.

on shore of big northeast pond, east side

estimated in groups of 100, then 1000. most were resting in shallow water on northland of biggest pond on the northeast. Roosting in several different groups.

good look at this one, slightly similar to Black Phoebe

scads of them in rushes along the canal road. the bulk of them were estimates of huge flocks stirred up a couple hundred meters away.
