    Number observed: 1

Comments: I did not see this bird well until if was off the ground and flying by me. I could observe the dusky underwing which lacked the black axillary region of a Black-bellied Plover. The flight or alarm call sounded exactly like that of those American Golden Plovers which I have seen well and for which there was do doubt about identity. However, I have been advised that due to increasing sightings of Pacific Golden Plovers in the Northeast ( particularly in coastal Canadian areas) in late July, that I should list this bird as American/Pacific Golden Plover to be safe. Apparently, flight calls are not considered safe identification aids. I wish that I had seen it better while it was on the ground, so that I could have checked primary length.
