male - heard distinctive low and slow kekking (1-3 k/s going up to 4 k/s occasionally, especially when agitated) while kayaking up to one of my points on the east side of the broadkill Marsh east of the observation tower. I would have been more surprised at this observation but I have seen possibly the same individual in this area (unit 3) about a month ago. salinity of the impoundment at that area is 5 ppt. I stayed on this bird and got audio recordings and pictures, will upload later.

a couple of agitated pairs, found one very young fledgling which means they have renested since the water levels were raised, which flooded out many of the over 60 nests I counted earlier this season
