Very noticeably smaller than Browns, blackish color as opposed to warm dark brown, white forehead much restricted, smaller slender bill. On coal docks with Browns then flew low over water. Lifer.

Photographed by Chris Boykin. Small well defined white throat, yellow patch between eye and bill. Conical sparrow bill. Dingy white underparts. Vague broad streaks on sides. Reddish brown wings. Broad gray strips on head. Very familiar w so from northern US.
