Comments: Male in near-full breeding plumage discovered this afternoon, and promptly reported, by Bruce Stevenson. About 15+ birders present upon my arrival. Bird fed on short grass field and small-gravel along east edge of Community garden adjacent to soccer fields. Bird was small, a tad larger than nearby Savannah Sparrows, basically streaky brown upper parts, rich golden/buffy throat, breast, and chest; striking black and white pattern on face; two white outer tail feathers on otherwise dark tail; fairly small, pale, conical bill. Record photos obtained. Fourth CT record.
