Comments: Saw large white, gray and black bird flying slowly into 10 mph wind about 10 feet above sagebrush at the Monument Rock area of Pyramid lake at 8:30 AM. Upon close inspection saw black shoulders and grey back with all white chest and red eyes. There were no buffy marks on its chest or back of neck that juveniles possess. Have photographed and seen many of these before in California and it was a no brainer what it was. Could not get my camera out quick enough before it disappeared to an inaccessable area. Watched that same area the next day and a no show.
