Saw bird pop up briefly in dense cover and land in leaf littler behind a log. Saw face head on and saw a bold, dark median crown stripe but could get little else on it. I looked away for a second and the bird disappeared. Chuck probably the most likely but the bird struck me (in the brief time I saw it) as smaller and darker so possibly a Whip?

Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's)

Nice male approaching breeding plumage. Definitely a different bird than the intergrade photographed a couple of days ago. This bird had a pure bright yellow throat with no white and straight sides that did not curl up behind the cheek area and had a very heavy black breast.

2
Northern Cardinal
