The Goshawk came from somewhere over the marsh to the south, and attempted unsuccessfully to attack Northern Pintails on the water. After several attempts and some fancy flying/harrier-like hovering (into a strong headwind) it gave up and flew into the pines along the entrance road. Size comparison to Pintails ruled out Cooper's Hawk and lack of white rump patch and general accipiter profile ruled out Northern Harrier. Eyebrow stripe readily visible. Photos taken.
