Much lighter single bird in mixed flock of pine siskins and common redpolls. Very pale unstreaked breast and white unstreaked under coverts. Red crown. Location where hoary redpoll has been seen this past week. All birds feeding on cones of alder. Many alder trees heavily laden with cones. Birds flew from one tree to the next, up and down the row of alders.
