Rusty and I both spotted this bird in a bunch of cattails in the little marsh near the parking lot at Hole-in-the-Head at Bodega Head. A few of the class spotted the bird also. It had rusty wing coverts and primaries; the crown had a light central stripe, a brown stripe above the eye, and a gray face, with some markings around an auricular patch. Very faint to no streaking or spotting on the breast.
