Long-eared/Short-eared Owl

Silhouetted, it was the correct size and flight style seen from close range. Short tailed and flapped a lot but could not pick up any other details. Probably short eared though.

Not as small as a screech owl, but not sure on exactly how large. We discussed great-horned but realistically we had no good idea on size other than it was not one of our "small" owls. It glided over some small trees in the marsh about 20 yards or less away and dropped down to marsh level.
