The was a group of ducks present in which there were this many Gadwall as I scoped through them. By the time I left a good number of waterfowl left due to boating action.

Revisited on March 28, 2017 about description and species identification. Criteria used to separate this loon from others sharply defined border from darker neck and white throat with a chin strap present. Other loons have different field marks that distinguish them. No means of photographing them at time as most were observed by scope; digiscoping a big time consuming process with poor results for effort put forth. Original field notebook not consulted as it would require more time I do not want to expend at this time.

Numbers are decreasing, however, there were at least this many present.

Good numbers of Harris's sparrows were found in some good habitat areas below the dam. I am sure more of these sparrows and others could be found if I had put more effort into looking for them.

7

Still good numbers of these sparrow lurking in brush piles and weedy patches.
