Boldly contrasting black carpal bars on wings, seen in flight off of point on north central side of the lake. Still more of a remaining black cap than any of my recently seen Forester's Terns. Slightly darker mantle and upper wings than FOTE. Scoped in high winds on the wing.

All pale upper wings, black eye patch, forked tail, basic plumage adult.

2 terns further out. High winds coupled with further distance left me unable to ascertain to species. Common/Forester's.
