Mosquitos still awful, deerflies somewhat worse but the coming front should help. A little slow for the date overall, but some good birds livened things up.

A tad early, very pale, especially in belly. Throat whitish, undertail seen to have dark edge and terminal band.

Bird seen flying over the woods, moving due W to E in excellent lighting conditions. Chin, breast, belly, and underwing areas stark white. Very long solid black tail, held nearly together, with slight inward curve at very end. Dark on sides of face (could not see top of bird). Not juvenile Scissortail, nor Pin-Tailed Whydah. Rushed to gate and searched extensively in all accessible areas east of woods back to town and down towards Pilot Station Road (site of our last Fork-Tailed). Could not find bird if it had set down but flight had been purposeful, so unsure of whereabouts.
