Heard and odd call that was unusual and deemed possibly some kind of passerine. We saw a shorebird fly by at 75-100 yards with long wings and a white rump. We played the white-rumped sandpiper call and it matched.

Dark morph bird with white under wing patches to primary bases black body belly and head. Upper and under tail coverts were strikingly contrasting with black and white barring. Tail extension was fairly long for a juvenile and had a tapered and slightly rounded tip. No noticeable lighter band on back of neck and did not notice axillary contrast at his distance. Bird appeared notably smaller than ring-billed gull it flew by as it attacked a Common Tern.
