Heard giving alarm calls when I first got out of the van; not heard later

Fly-over, seen for only a few seconds. Looked strikingly small & skinny (recalling a Glossy Ibis), and also long-tailed. I would have called it a Neotropic if I were in Texas, but would prefer a longer view before claiming such a rare vagrant.
