Common/Yellow-billed Loon

One adult bird seen through a prominar Kowa zoom scope at a distance of 300-400 meters. Clearly an individual of one of these two species. Blackish head, with "classic COLO/YBLO" neck collar, white checkered back, on top of dark upper parts. Underparts white. Large squared head. Bill was shockingly pale bordering on an ivory color and appeared heavy. Still I have seen COLOs with pale-colored bills (albeit never this pale), and in the morning light, paleness may of been exaggerated. Still a very interesting bird that I wish had been closer
