While having breakfast in the Kasbah Ennasra in Rissani on Sunday morning (3/02/14) , a pair of HOUSE BUNTINGs were helping themselves to some croissants on a tray. The male House Bunting Birding was quite taken with its image in the mirror on the wall.

After breakfast, Ali the Nomad took us to an oasis with plenty of palm trees for one of our other desert targets. We were soon quite pleased to be viewing a group of a dozen FULVOUS CHATTERERs (Babblers). One chatterer was singing from a conspicuous perch in a palm tree, and the others were milling around on the ground. There was on SARDINIAN WARBLER present too.

Farther out into the desert, Ali took us to one of his sandgrouse sites, and we had an incredible leisurely views of fourteen SPOTTED SANDGROUSE feeding in a wadi. I just love sandgrouse! In addition, we saw DESERT WHEATEAR, BLACK WHEATEAR, and DESERT LARK.
