Within mixed sparrow flock. Smaller than song and white-crowned sparrows. Identified by rufous cap and rufous line through eye, unlike black stripe expected for chipping. Bill bicolored with dusky maxilla and yellow mandible. Warm brown back with darker streaking. Clear below but only seen from side, so I could not see the brown spot on center of breast.
