Comments: Spizella sparrow with mostly grey face, rufous cap, and rufous eyeline. Bicolored bill with lower mandible mostly yellow (but dark at tip), upper mandible all dark. Unstreaked whitish underparts with buffy/rufous wash on sides, dark dot in center of breast . Legs were black, back was boldly streaked. Bright white thin wing bars, and rufous edges on tertials. Seen on the south side of the lake, on the the low flat partially-submerged concrete berm, and in the reeds just south of the berm. GPS 34.76961171,-118.74421415. Looking west from the west end of the airfield, this is the second region of reeds that abuts against the berm. Many photos.
