American Avocet

A large shorebird with long legs. Black and white wings with a gray and white body. The bill was upturned. They were seen at East Beach turnaround.

Gray with a medium streaked breast and with pink on the sides of the belly. No eye ring. The bird took short flights from it's perch and quickly return. The bird did call. It is believed to be a female. Seen at East Beach
