Heard to the north and east of the Candelaria Wetlands. Very familiar with the call from areas in northern NM.. a somewhat raucous "wrat, wrat" "wrat, wrat, wrat" with number of notes variable. I never saw the bird but A. Gorbet did. Has been found in Bernalillo Co very few times since W. Nile virus hit near the beginning of the previous decade.
