Brewer's Sparrow

I discovered this somewhat confusing _spizella_ sparrow at Rodeo Lagoon, mid-way down the Lagoon Trail, where it exits the thick willow grove and begins to climb the hillside, and was later able to show it to Dave Wiechers. I initially took it for a Clay-colored, based on its wide, smooth gray collar, but on closer review it appeared to be a Brewer's, with cool, subdued plumage tones, weak face pattern, and a complete white eyering.
