Selasphorus sp.

Female or young bird, hanging around extensive patch of Jewelweed with at least 3 Ruby-throats. In direct comparison, this bird looked more compact, short-necked, big-headed, with fairly short, straight bill. Distinct wash of cinnamon on flanks, but not bright or extensive. A small amount of rufous at the bases of the outer rectrices was visible when the bird flared its tail a few times in interactions with other hummers. Much of throat appeared to be covered with small dark spots, especially lower part of throat, but wasn't able to see pattern in detail. Tried without success to get a photo of the bird.
