Herring x Glaucous Gull (hybrid)

seen in flight - a whitish, large-looking gull that gave an initial impression of being a Glaucous. However, we noticed that the extreme tips of the wings were slightly darker than the rest of the wing and the tail had a slightly darker tip forming a distinct, but light band. The bird was relatively short-winged, with a powerful gizz.
