Pacific Loon

classic pacific loon. Bird was about 25-30 yards along the beach and about 25-30 yards out from shore. Cleaning, bathing activity. Immediately stood out as distinctly black and white bird. I had 200+ sightings (not individuals) of common loons over the previous 72 hours. Small dark inflection of hindneck color on upper sides of neck, below throat, no lower greyish/segmented back color intrusion lower neck/upper breast. Distinct border between black & white on neck, other than the lower throat intrusion. Viewed over several minutes around 30-40 power scope.
