Dusting snow. Wind NE 15-20mph. Birding w/ Matt Gearheart, Nic Allen, and Will Chatfield-Taylor. Searching for Williamson's Sapsucker found by Dave Klema. Birding around Hell's Creek office and maintenance shed, as well as the dam.

Spotted by Matt as it flew in front us us, showing flashing white wing patches and white rump on otherwise jet black bird. Later seen from ~10ft in a Scott's? Pine. Very quiet and shy. Photographed by Dave Klema - go to http://www.ksbirds.org and look under rare bird photos to see this bird.
