Piping Plover

1, no published plumage details, present 17 May 2004; found by: Blake A. Mann; documentation provided by: Blake A. Mann; Sandy Dobbyn; photo(s) on file. Published comments: The Rondeau bird also was banded as a chick in Michigan, perhaps at the same location. There is uncertainty about the year of banding, because of the difficulty in determining the composition of the silver band (aluminum or incoloy), but there is a chance that it also was banded in 2003 (Blake A. Mann, pers. comm.). These observations point out the value of recording even partial band information (leg, colour combinations, arrangements). 55th (OBRC accepted) Ontario record for this species. 53rd OBRC accepted record for southern Ontario for this species. Record accepted by OBRC (record number 544?). Record published in 2004 OBRC annual report.
