    Comments: Indian Ridge

  17. Number observed: 2

Comments: At least two Red Crossbills mixed in with the flock of White-winged Crossbills. Larger size, slightly different build, lacking white wingbars, and having distinct contact calls. I observed one female closely, and felt that her beak was relatively small (smaller than those on the White-winged Crossbills, for instance). I did not have any recording equipment with me, but I believe the calls match type 3. Type 1 seems too long and soft, and type 5 seems too clean and sharp.

  18. Number observed: 8

Comments: Feeding on conifer cones on Indian Ridge above Spectacle Pond. Calling continuously, curved crossed beaks, white wingbars.

  23. passerine sp.

    Number observed: 1

Comments: Possible Bohemian Waxwing. Heard overhead near the Dell but could not locate to confirm. More of a streaming musical trill than Cedar Waxwing's call.
