Oreothlypis sp.

Jeff Skriletz and I found a bird that we originally identified as a Nashvill Warbler along the east side of Ocean Shores at 1320. The bird flew across the road in front of us and landed in an alder/salmonberry patch along the road, about 0.3 miles north of Lake Bay on Duck Lake Dr. We got good views of it from about 15m away. My notes described:

Warbler with solid yellow underparts from chin to undertail coverts, rich green-yellow solid upperparts from rectrices to gray hood. Wings concolor with back, no wing bar. Head gray, with light yellow eye ring. Black iris, black slender bill. Size of Yellow Warbler. Note - a sharp hard chip.

Note, in retrospect, not certain that we eliminated a bright orestera Orange-crown.
