Found by Bruce Peterjohn from Bear Swamp Tower. Partial breeding plumage male with extensive rusty feathers on breast and flanks. Large spatulate bill. Blue shoulder patches. Overall buffy tones in rest of plumage.

Two large flocks, one mixed with other shorebirds at Shearness with about 150 birds. Another 50 birds were resting in Bear Swamp Pool with yellowlegs. All actively foraging birds had the hunched appearance of LBDO. No evidence of any SBDO present, although I did not specifically ID each individual.
