  17. pewee sp. (Contopus sp.)

    Number observed: 8

Comments: Not all wood-pewees were identifiable to species.

  18. Number observed: 1
  19. Number observed: 3

Comments: There was one individual present almost the entire time. At some point, it was joined by a second individual, and there was much vocalizing. When I became aware of the second individual, I started photographing them together when I heard another vocalizing from behind me. This made sense, because I had seen one fly off and thought that 'it' was gone when I found the other two.

  20. Number observed: 1

Comments: At one point, both Cassin's Kingbird and Western Kingbird perched in the same tree. The Cassin's called, while the Western remained silent. They were in that tree for a couple of minutes, allowing study and comparison.
