The bird discovered on 27 DEC 79 and staying through 12 JAN 80. (American Birds) Very large shorebird with long dark legs, very long, thick based, upcurved bill. Tibia notably longer than would be for Hudsonian.Bill pink at base with dark tip. Overall dark gray with whitish belly and pale supra loral mark. In flight, white underwing coverts. Upperwing blackish with bolder white stripe through primaries and secondaries than Hudsonian. White rump, black tail.
