The dream has become true! After a long project between 2014-2017, three birders, Kerem Ali Boyla, Lider Sinav and Dilek Eylül Dizdaroğlu, were able to publish Turkish Breeding Bird Atlas. More than 150 birders participated during the project. The project was supported by WWF-Turkey and European Bird Census Council. A total of over 80.000 bird records of over 450 birdwatchers between 2000-2017 were used. eBird Turkey (Kuşbank) was used as the principal tool for data collection, analysis and storage.
The result present 313 breeding bird species. Three species are considered extinct as a breeding bird are: Demoiselle Crane (Grus virgo), Velvet Scoter (Melanitta fusca) and Marbled Duck (Marmaronetta angustirostris). The report and all supporting data is available at: https://goo.gl/9ppMX7
